Echoes of Industry - The Abandoned Steel Works in Lorraine
My exploration of the huge abandoned steel works in Lorraine, France, on the river Mosel in 2021.
Formerly one of the biggest steel producers in Western Europe, it turned out to be a forgotten place which nature is slowly taking back. The once-thriving hub of industrial activity now stands silent, its towering structures and machinery reclaimed by the encroaching wilderness. As I ventured alone into this forbidden realm, my camera in hand, I sought to capture the haunting beauty of decay and the resilience of nature amidst the relics of human industry.
